Several parts of Bengaluru are set to experience scheduled power outages between June 13 and 15, as Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) carries out maintenance work on the Sarjapur-Attibele 66/11 kV line. The power will be suspended from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the three-day period.

Bengaluru Weather Outlook: Showers, Winds Expected

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts cloudy skies over Bengaluru with light to moderate rainfall and wind speeds ranging between 30 to 40 km/h. The city is likely to record a high of 29°C and a low of 21°C.

The southwest monsoon remains active, particularly over North Interior Karnataka and parts of Coastal and South Interior Karnataka. Widespread showers have been reported in these regions, with Bengaluru also experiencing intermittent rain.

Potholes Resurface In Bengaluru Amid Rains

As rains continue, Bengaluru’s perennial pothole problem is once again drawing public ire. Several roads across the city have deteriorated, causing traffic snarls and safety concerns.

Notably, Mohandas Pai, former CFO and board member of Infosys and a recipient of the Padma Shri, expressed strong criticism of the city's road conditions. Posting an image of a potholed road on social media, he tagged senior civic officials and said, “Pothole engineering in Bengaluru. Pathetic. Big shame. Is this road repair? Very primitive.”

The civic body, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), is yet to issue a formal response.
