Tata Sons, which is the owner of Air India, has announced the formation of a public charitable trust on Friday. The trust will help the people and affected families killed in the horrific aircraft accident on June 12 in Ahmedabad. A total of 260 people died in this accident. The trust has been named ‘AI-171 Memorial and Welfare Trust’.


Assistance will be given to victims


The statement issued by Tata Sons said that the trust will provide immediate and long -term help to the families of the victims, injured people and other indirectly affected by the accident. The trust has been registered in Mumbai and will act as a permanent contribution dedicated to the memory of the victims.


Assistance to people involved in rescue operations


The trust will help not only the victims but also those involved in relief and rescue operations. This includes medical staff, police, emergency services, social workers and government employees. Tata Sons appreciated the important role of these people and said that the trust will work towards reducing the mental and emotional burden of all of them.
