History was made at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara as Nat Sciver-Brunt delivered a performance that will be remembered for years in the Women’s Premier League. On Monday, January 26, the England star became the first cricketer ever to score a century in the WPL history during the WPL 2026 clash between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Batting with calm authority, Nat Sciver-Brunt reached her hundred in just 57 balls and remained unbeaten on exactly 100. Her innings was packed with intent and elegance, featuring 16 boundaries and one six, as she anchored Mumbai Indians batting lineup led by Harmanpreet Kaur. From the moment she settled in, she looked in complete control, punishing loose deliveries and rotating the strike with ease.

One of the defining moments of her knock was her partnership with Hayley Matthews. The duo stitched together a massive 131-run stand for the second wicket, coming off just 73 balls. Hayley Matthews played her role to perfection, contributing 56 runs from 39 deliveries, giving Mumbai Indians the momentum they needed to post a commanding total.

Thanks largely to Nat Sciver-Brunt’s brilliance, Mumbai Indians finished with 199 for 4 in their 20 overs, putting Royal Challengers Bengaluru under serious pressure. The innings also pushed Nat Sciver-Brunt past a long-standing WPL record. Until this match, the highest individual score in the league was 99, achieved by Sophie Devine for RCB in the WPL 2023 against Gujarat Giants at Brabourne Stadium. Georgia Voll had also fallen just short with an unbeaten 99 for UP Warriorz in the WPL 2025 against RCB in Lucknow.

Nat Sciver-Brunt’s form this season has been nothing short of sensational. Retained by Mumbai Indians for Rs 3.50 crore ahead of the WPL 2026 mega auction, she has fully justified the faith shown in her. In six matches this season, she has already scored 319 runs, including one century and three half-centuries, making her the leading run-scorer in the tournament. Team captain Harmanpreet Kaur follows closely behind with 260 runs in seven matches.

In the match itself, RCB fought hard but fell short, finishing on 184 for 9. Mumbai Indians secured a 15-run victory and Nat Sciver-Brunt was rightly named the Player of the Match for her historic and match-winning performance.
