ITV Good Morning Britain provided ITV viewers with an update on the incident that occurred at pop star Rihanna's Beverley Hills home at the weekend.
On Sunday (March 8), the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of gunfire. The suspect was subsequently located and taken into custody.
Officials have confirmed that the property, which was targeted, belonged to Rihanna, who was believed to be in the mansion at the time of the gunfire.
Discussing the horrific ordeal on Monday's (March 9) Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid, who had shared a terrifying experience of her own earlier on, quickly interrupted the discussion to relay an update.
She said: "I think we've got some breaking news on that story.", reports the Mirror.
The ITV programme then broadcast eyewitness accounts of what happened, from those who also resided in the neighbourhood.
One man said: "Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam! Like, probably 10 shots."
Another woman commented: "It was really loud and everything echoes in this valley, so you can hear everything. A shot is not something you expect."
Someone else added: "My first thought was, 'really?' You know, given the neighbourhood, you don't usually expect there to be drive-by shootings in a place like this, but they're everywhere now."
After hearing from the eyewitnesses, who came from FOX News, Richard Arnold informed viewers that there will be more on the story as it develops.
Earlier in the programme, the showbiz correspondent reported that Rihanna's residence was targeted in a daylight shooting.
He remarked: "A 30 year old woman has been apprehended, but scant additional information has been released.
"It's reported she pulled up outside in a white Tesla and fired approximately 10 shots at the property's gates. Some of the bullets managed to pierce one of the house's walls. The woman then sped away, prompting a police response which resulted in her capture.
She was found in possession of an AR-15 rifle, a detail that has only recently come to light. The LAPD's robbery and homicide division is initiating an investigation, though the motive remains uncertain."
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
