Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have had a difficult few months following scandals surrounding their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and it seems the difficulty is not set to end anytime soon. While the princesses were named in the Epstein files, simply appearing in them does not indicate wrongdoing.

While Andrew, 66, has denied wrongdoing and past accusations against him, his arrest last month on suspicion of misconduct in public office has brought a negative spotlight on his whole family. This negativity appears to remain, with Andrew still released under investigation.

Neither Beatrice, 37, nor Eugenie, 35, have commented on the matter; however, it is believed they have retreated massively from public life as a result.

It was also reported that they have suffered as a result of their father's scandals, with reports suggesting they have been banned from attending Royal Ascot this year - an event they usually attend - and other events.

While this may be the case, a source who knows the sisters has said that they weren't planning to attend Royal Ascot anyway due to other commitments.

The source told Us Weekly: "They were not going to be there anyway. They were not planning on attending."

The source also said that the sisters are reportedly not planning to attend public events in the near future because of the scandals surrounding both their father and their mother Sarah Ferguson, who also appeared in the Epstein Files.

It is not known when the sisters last spoke to either their father or mother following these recent scandals.
