Virat Kohli continued to be a consistent run-scorer with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru as he contributed another crucial 51 in 43 deliveries in what was a tough track to bat on at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium against the home side, Sunrisers Hyderabad.

After choosing to bat first, RCB set a decent score of 206/7 in the 20 overs which seemed to be child’s play for the dominant SRH side that has gone well past 200 on multiple occasions.

Top 5 Batters in Orange Cap Race After SRH vs RCB

Virat Kohli: As expected, Kohli continues to dominate the run-scoring charts and the fifty against SRH makes him the first batter to cross the 400-run mark in the 2024 edition of the IPL. Despite struggling to pick up the pace after the powerplay, it was clear that the conditions were not as simple which meant that his contributions played a valuable role in their win over SRH.

Ruturaj Gaikwad: The CSK skipper is back amongst the top batters in the run-scoring charts as he now sits at the second spot in the orange cap race following his century against Lucknow Super Giants. Despite the knock going in vain, the side will be positive seeing the skipper thriving with the bat despite the added responsibility as a skipper.

Rishabh Pant: The DC skipper continues to impress everyone since his long-awaited return to competitive cricket. His recent knock against Gujarat Titans where he scored 88 in just 43 balls shows that he is still that good that he is third in the run-scoring charts.

Sai Sudarshan: The young left-hander continues to showcase his talent and why he deserves to be part of the national team. Despite being asked to play as an opener or even at number three, he seems unfazed and his latest knock against DC where he scored 65 runs in 39 balls is evidence of his talent in the big stages. c

Travis Head: The game against RCB is very likely a one-off as the opposition came up against him with his weakness that is the spinners and he fell very early after scoring just one run. But he will look to get back amongst the runs as he is now the fifth-highest run-scorer in the IPL 2024.

Top 5 Bowlers in Purple Cap Race After SRH vs RCB

Jasprit Bumrah: Mumbai’s ace in the hole, Bumrah has been outstanding as he keeps reaching new highs and continues to dominate the batters in a season where batting has gone on a whole new level.

Yuzuvendra Chahal: The experienced leg-spinner who seems to be out of favour with the national side, showcases why he is among the best Indian spinners as he also reached the 200-wicket milestone, the first bowler in the IPL to reach the feat.

Harshal Patel: Despite having a poor start to the season, Harshal seems to have turned his fortunes around as he is now the third-highest wicket-taker of the season despite PBKS continuing to struggle with close losses through the 2024 edition.

Kuldeep Yadav: The left-arm wrist spinner has been tested on various occasions, especially against SRH but he showed why he is amongst the top spinners of the tournament as he has already racked up 12 wickets in just six games,

T Natarajan: The left-arm pacer has jumped up to the fifth spot in the wicket-taking charts after taking two wickets against RCB. He continues to show his class by bowling in all three phases of the game and picking wickets while not giving away too many runs as well.
