The paper of NEET-UG-2024, the country's biggest medical entrance examination, was of slightly lower standard than last year. Education expert Dev Sharma said that in the Physics paper, 60 percent questions were asked from class 12th syllabus while only 40 percent questions were asked from class 11th syllabus. Dev Sharma told that in the question paper of Physics, level questions were asked related to the displacement-current flowing during capacitor charging and the graph between de Broglie wavelength and energy of the particle due to dual nature. Simple questions were asked from Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Current Electricity and Modern Physics. Dev Sharma told that formula and fact-based questions were asked from all the topics like Simple Harmonic Motion, Gravitation, Properties of Matter, Capacitor, Alternating-Current, Electromagnetic-Wave and Logic-Gate. Dev Sharma said that like the year 2023, the distribution of topic-wise questions in this question paper of Physics was not balanced. Out of 50 questions of Physics subject, 30 questions were asked from class 12th syllabus and 20 questions were asked from class 11th syllabus. Increase in calculation based questions in Chemistry – Sharma said that in the question paper of Chemistry, calculation based questions were asked from Chemical-Kinetics, Colligative-Properties (Osmotic Pressure) and Mole-Concept. Fact and formula based simple questions were asked from Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. In Inorganic Chemistry, questions related to column matching related to shape and geometry of molecules were asked. The question related to significance of quantum numbers was also of general level. In Organic Chemistry, questions related to reaction of alcohols with Lucas-reagent were asked. Column-matching questions related to the reaction and related reagents were also asked. Will the cut-off increase or decrease? He said that it is too early to say whether the cut-off of NEET-UG, 2024 will increase or decrease. Answer key will be prepared based on the solutions of the question paper, from which students will be asked to calculate the score. Only after data analysis of marks obtained by the student, logical comments can be made on increase or decrease in cut-off marks.
