In Bengaluru, the price of 10 grams of 24 carat gold is Rs 97,535 while 22 carat gold is trading at Rs 89,405. If we talk about Chennai, here 24 carat gold is Rs 97,541 per 10 grams while the price of 22 carat gold is Rs 89,411 per 10 grams. Earlier, the price of gold had crossed the record high of Rs 1 lakh on 22 April. But, since then its prices have been decreasing.

Gold jumped 30 percent in a year

Buying gold on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya is considered a symbol of prosperity and there is a belief in Indian society that people buy it on this special day. According to a report by Venture Securities, gold was selling at Rs 73,240 per ten grams on Akshaya Tritiya in 2024, which is currently selling at Rs 95,000 to Rs 96,000. That is, there has been an increase of 30 percent in a year.
