In order to reduce traffic accidents across the area, Collector T.S. Chetan emphasized the need for planned and coordinated measures. He encouraged agencies to collaborate for successful implementation while chairing the district-level Road Safety Committee review meeting on Tuesday at the Collectorate’s Mini Conference Hall.

Police Superintendent V. Ratna, District Transport Officer Karuna Sagar Reddy, Motor Vehicle Inspectors, and representatives from other departments attended the meeting. In order to identify accident-prone regions and implement remedial actions, he suggested establishing a committee.


He also went over how the choices made at the last meeting were being carried out. He ordered particular campaigns against drunk driving and helmetless riding to be carried out by the police and transportation authorities. It is necessary to conduct awareness campaigns about traffic safety regulations, particularly for students. The District Educational Officer was directed to make sure that school buses were subject to stringent inspections, which included installing CCTV cameras at the back of the vehicles. In addition, the Collector oversaw the planning of awareness-raising events for parents of schoolchildren, especially those enrolled in private schools.


Additional recommendations included increasing safety campaigns to lower two-wheeler accidents in the district, making sure young people knew the need of wearing helmets, and improving lighting and road widening at the Penukonda Sri Krishnadevaraya monument intersection. Additionally in attendance were R&B SC Sanjeeva Rao, Panchayat Raj official Muralimohan, RTC GM Madhusudan, NHAI officer Bharat, DEO Krishtappa, DCH Officer Thipendra Naik, Kadiri MVI Srinivasa Rao, and representatives from the Road Safety Committee and District Claim Settlement Committee.
