Lucknow. Another major step has been taken to speed up the infrastructure of Uttar Pradesh and encourage religious tourism. The central government is going to construct a high speed expressway about 200 km long between Ayodhya to Varanasi. Under this project, the journey between the two pilgrimage cities can be completed in just two hours, which will not only save time but will also give people a safe and easy travel experience.

What is the plan?

This expressway will be completely access control, that is, unauthorized admission will not be allowed anywhere. This road will be equipped with state-of-the-art techniques and will be connected to Purvanchal Expressway. This will also ensure direct and fast connectivity from Ayodhya to Delhi. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has started the tender process for this and now the selected institution will soon prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for it.

Which districts will benefit?

The construction of this expressway will directly benefit districts like Ayodhya, Ambedkarnagar, Sultanpur, Jaunpur and Varanasi. The economic, religious and tourism development of these districts will get a new direction.

Religious tourism will get a boost

Both Ayodhya and Varanasi are the main religious city of Hinduism. Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Rama and Varanasi is world famous as the city of Baba Vishwanath. Traveling between these two holy cities from this high speed expressway will be much easier and faster than before. This will facilitate the devotees coming from India and abroad and will give a big boost to religious tourism.
