New Delhi: A man took to social media to share a heartbreaking incident. He stated that a colleague of his died just 10 minutes after texting him for a sick leave. The devastating event garnered the attention of many online. Netizens sent prayers and condolences in the comments.

KV Iyyer shared the incident on X. The man said that his colleague Shankar messaged him at 8:37 am asking for a sick leave. Shankar texted, “Sir, due to severe back pain I am unable to come today. Please grant me leave.” Iyyer immediately asked the man to take the day off. In his post, he wrote, “Such messages are routine, so I replied, ‘Ok, take rest.’ The day went on as usual.”

Little did he imagine it to be Shankar’s last message. “At 11 am, I received a call that shook me completely. The caller informed me that Shankar had passed away. I could not believe it at first, so I contacted another colleague to confirm and get his address. When I reached his home, he was no more,” said Iyyer on the social media platform. The shocked boss went on to stated that Shankar was a healthy man with no habits of drinking or smoking.

“He was part of my team for six years. Just 40 years old, healthy and fit, married with a child, never smoked or drank,” said Iyyer.

He further explained, “Shankar suffered a cardiac arrest. What is unbelievable is that he sent the leave message at 8:37 am and passed away at 8:47 am. A man, fully conscious, messaged me just 10 minutes before his last breath. I am completely shocked.” Concluding the post, the upset man wrote, “Life is unpredictable. Be kind to those around you and live happily, because you never know what the next minute holds.”
