Saheli Smart Card Registration: There is a good news coming for the women of Delhi this Diwali. Before Bhai Dooj, they are going to get such a gift which will make traveling in government buses even easier. Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is soon going to launch 'Saheli Smart Card' for women. Till now, women had to buy a zero value pink ticket for free travel, but now they will get rid of this hassle. After the launch of the new smart card facility, women will be able to travel in the bus without any ticket with just one tap. The same facility will be available to transgender passengers also. What is Saheli Smart Card that will replace pink ticket?

Under the new scheme of Delhi Government, paper tickets will no longer be required. This card has been named 'Saheli Smart Card'. According to Transport Department officials, the backend system required for this card is completely ready and card reading machines have also been installed in most of the buses. This card will provide free travel pass facility to women for lifetime. This means that the women of Delhi will be able to travel in government buses without tickets whenever they want, as many times as they want. However, this facility will be available only to women living in Delhi.

When will Saheli smart card be launched?

According to officials, the scheme will be launched soon after Diwali, possibly on the day of Bhai Dooj. The government's preparations are almost complete and now only the approval of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is awaited.

How to get Saheli Smart Card, where to apply?

• To get this card, women will have to register online on the official website of DTC dtc.delhi.gov.in.
• After application, the card will be issued by the concerned bank after KYC verification.
• It has been clarified that the card will not be available directly from the DTC counter.
• After the card is activated, women will be able to travel in the bus just by tapping. Now they will not need to take pink tickets every time.
