An owner faces an anxious wait as her dog is treated for a "painful" eye condition in The Yorkshire Vet.
The episode of the Channel 5 favourite, which airs on Tuesday (March 3), sees Dalmatian Bobbin in the surgery for an ulcer on the eye. The dog's owner had been treating the sore, but Bobbin's eye had not healed.
"It looks like things have been going on for a while," vet Julian Norton said as the dog visited the surgery.
"We've been putting the drops in avidly but she's not seeming to be improving," said her worried owner.
"Corneal ulcers are really painful," the vet explained. "The ulcer is quite deep, it's been quite persistent as well. So what we'll need to do for these ulcers that aren't healing is to debride with a diamond burr. It's a bit like a pumice stone for hard feet, it rubs away their dead cells."
The vet is then seen treating Bobbin, with the dog laid on the vet's table as he scrapes the cells from here eye.
Sitting outside, her owner admitted: "I feel a little bit emotional because you just don't know what's going to happen. I just hope, fingers crossed, that it does the trick."
A clip of the episode was shared on Instagram ahead of the episode, with the caption explaining that Bobbin was the first Dalmatian to be on the long-running series.
It said: "There might have been 101 Dalmatians in the film. But in 10 years and 22 series we've never featured a single one!"
"As Nurse Lucy observes, they don't see many come into the practice in Wetherby. But Bobbin has a nasty ulcer on her eye, and needs Julian's help."
The Yorkshire Vet started airing on Channel 5 over a decade ago in 2015.
Following veterinarians Julian and Peter Wright as they treat all sorts of animals with a variety of complaints in Yorkshire, it has become popular with TV viewers and so far 22 series of the show have aired.
