Avocados have become a really popular breakfast choice because they are so healthy, but if you have never enjoyed their taste, it might be because you are making them wrong. Most people enjoy avocados for their smooth texture, which is perfect for spreading on toast, but they can actually taste quite bland and boring.
Gaby Dalkin, a cook and the founder of What's Gaby Cooking, has shared that it is important to season avocados immediately after slicing them up in order to make them flavourful. She said: "Salt right away to bring out the flavour. Avocado without salt is just... beige vibes."
Avocados contain subtle bitter compounds that our taste buds can often pick up on, and these can mask the fruit's sweetness.
Salt heightens our taste buds, and when you season avocados, it can help counteract their bitterness and enhance their natural flavours, to make them a lot tastier.
Sprinkling a little salt on avocado will make the avocado a lot creamier and almost buttery so you will get a more satisfying breakfast without much effort.
It can also help to add an acidic ingredient like lemon juice to avocados as it will help the salt make avocados more flavourful by making it taste lighter.

How to make avocado toast much tastier Making avocado toast is really easy, but if you want to make it even better, then this simple recipe should take you only five minutes.
You will need:
One piece of thick and grainy bread
Half of a ripe avocado
One teaspoon of lemon juice
Salt and pepper
Method:
To begin, add your bread to a toaster and let it toast for two to three minutes until it is perfectly golden and crisp. It is better to use thick bread if you can, so the toast does not become soggy when you add the fruit.
Remove the skin and pit from your avocado slice, then place it in a bowl. Mash up the avocado using a fork.
Add the lemon juice, salt and pepper to a bowl. You only need a little to enhance the taste of avocado but season to your own preferences.
Slather the mashed avocado mixture onto the toast, and your much tastier breakfast is ready to serve.
Avocado toast goes brilliantly with poached eggs, salmon, bacon or tomatoes but only add one or two extra ingredients otherwise you risk overloading the toast and making it hard to eat.
It can really help to add something crunchy on top of avocado toast since it is a really smooth topping, and it will help make the flavours more pronounced.
