Viewers recently brought it to people's attention on Reddit when they were discussing good shows to watch on Netflix, and it's clear the series has had dozens of people seriously gripped. The show has been deemed so good that fans are binging it in a single sitting as they simply can't wait to see what happens next.

It's not the only show to have taken people by surprise recently either. Just days ago, some were also singing the praises of another addictive watch that's available on the streaming platform.

If you haven't seen it, Death By Lightning is an American historical drama miniseries created by Mike Makowsky. It's based on the 2011 book Destiny of the Republic by Candice Millard.

It stars Michael Shannon as United States President James A. Garfield and Matthew Macfadyen plays the role of his assassin Charles J. Guiteau. The four-episode series arrived on Netflix back in November 2025.

When it was released, it was widely celebrated by critics. Praise was specifically given for the performances, with the show being labelled one of the best television series of the year by the American Film Institute.

It tells the tale of the election and presidency of James A. Garfield, the 20th United States President, while focusing on his anti-corruption and pro-civil rights stances. As well as this, viewers get to see how his path crossed with Charles J. Guiteau, a deluded admirer, who went on to shoot him - an incident which ultimately led to his death.

The cast includes the likes of Michael Shannon as James A. Garfield, Matthew Macfadyen as Charles J. Guiteau, Betty Gilpin as Lucretia Garfield and Shea Whigham as Roscoe Conkling. It's said to be well worth your time.
