Honnavar: A man died in a road accident after a KSRTC bus collided with an Omni vehicle near Herangadi in Honnavar taluk on Sunday evening (March 15).

The deceased has been identified as Ibrahim, the driver of the Omni vehicle.

According to police, Ibrahim, who was from Siddapur, was driving the vehicle from Bhatkal towards Siddapur. At the same time, a bus belonging to Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) was travelling from Gersoppa towards Honnavar.

The bus reportedly collided with the Omni vehicle near Herangadi. Due to the impact of the crash, the Omni vehicle was badly damaged.

Ibrahim suffered serious injuries in the accident and was being taken to a hospital for treatment. However, he died on the way, police said.

Some passengers travelling in the bus also suffered minor injuries in the accident.

A case has been registered at the Honnavar Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
