The Madison could be set to become one of the year's biggest streaming sensations after the initial three episodes of Taylor Sheridan's uplifting Western drama were launched on Paramount+.

The inaugural six-part series debuted on Saturday, 14th March, with the next trio of episodes due to arrive the following Saturday.

Michelle Pfeiffer takes centre stage in the moving family saga as Stacy Clyburn, the affluent matriarch of a high-profile New York family who is compelled to move to Montana in the wake of a devastating tragedy.

Fellow Hollywood heavyweight Kurt Russell plays Stacy's spouse Preston, alongside an impressive cast as the remainder of the family, which also features The Good Doctor's Beau Garrett and Suits' Patrick J Adams.

But where was the series actually shot? Let's delve into what's been confirmed.

Filming for the series did indeed take place in Montana, including the genuinely breathtaking Madison River Valley.

Main photography for the first season kicked off in August 2024, and the cast has already reconvened to film a second series in September 2025.

Other picturesque locations in the state include Yellowstone National Park, a small town named Ennis, and Gallatin National Forest.

However, one filming location may surprise viewers as it serves as a surprisingly convincing substitute for one of the globe's most renowned cities.

Despite the first season commencing in New York City, these scenes were actually shot in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas.

Dallas' equally contemporary skyline serves as a convincing stand-in for New York's iconic skyscraper vistas, whilst Downtown Fort Worth was filled with yellow taxis and NYPD vehicles to persuade viewers that scenes were unfolding on the streets of Manhattan.

Specific locations in Texas encompassed Dallas' Deep Ellum district and Fort Worth's Sundance Square and Stockyards area.

Production was largely kept under wraps from the public, so it's probable the same will apply to the locations of season two.

As filming for The Madison's subsequent series has already wrapped up, fans will need to bide their time to find out whether the Clyburns venture beyond their new abode when the narrative resumes.
