No matter how big or small an actor may be, there have been times when they gave it their all and still it wasn’t enough. Akshay Kumar is one of them. He is one of the many actors in Bollywood who have an extremely hefty fee, regardless of the movie they do.
This comes with him being an experienced actor and someone who has worked in the industry for such a long time. However, there can be times when the movies flop big time, and then, that hefty fee feels like a burden rather than a reward.

During the trailer launch event for Ektaa Kapoor, Priyadarshan, and Akshay Kumar’s latest film, Bhooth Bangla, the producer revealed that she had been shocked when the actor returned such a big amount to her because a previous movie hadn’t worked out.
“I have been waiting to work with Akshay for quite a few years now. One thing that people don’t know is that he is the only actor who called me up after out first film didn’t do well. He gave me a cheque, and he said, ‘this is the money back for you, you have lost money, take your money.’ I was in shock. No one does this. In my 31 years in this industry, no one has ever done this. He just gave the cheque so casually. I said, ‘No, sir. You do a film for my company. We will make lots of money.’ That film has finally happened.”
Tabu only added to this, jesting about how Crew had brought in an influx of money for the producer and that should have also been rewarded to the cast. The back and forth happened in pure humour.
Bhooth Bangla marks the return of the iconic duo of Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar. The movie also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, and icons of comedy. It will be released on April 17, with paid previews starting on April 16. After this, Akshay will also be releasing Welcome to the Jungle, Haiwaan, Golmaal 5, and possibly Hera Pheri 3 in the same year.
