Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh was notably absent from the royals' Easter Matins service on Sunday. Senior members of the monarchy gathered for the traditional Easter Matins service at Windsor Castle, including King Charles III, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales. Sophie did not attend despite expectations she would join her husband Prince Edward and their son James, Earl of Wessex.
Her absence is believed to be due to feeling 'under the weather.' The Royal Family continues to grapple with the Andrew Mountbatten Windsor 'problem', as he is reportedly "digging his heels" over relocating to his permanent Sandringham residence at Marsh Farm. Royal expert Jennie Bond told the Mirror that the situation was 'utterly depressing' for Sophie given the contrast between her work and learn about the friendship between Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein.
