A firm that runs three pubs in a beautiful UK county has collapsed into liquidation. Happy Wolf Pub Company Ltd. trades as The Yew Tree, The Peacock and The Cherington, and has a registered office in Northampton. Its principle trading address is listed as The Yew Tree in the village of Avon Dassett, Southam. The venue is described as "warm and cosy", with friendly staff serving up "excellent food".

The firm took over The Cherington in Shipston on Stour in May 2024 after a "beautiful refurbishment". The company added on its website: "With fantastic local support & the best pub garden for miles, we are sure this can be a huge success!"

About The Peacock in the village of Oxhill, it said: "Pub number 2 came along in April 2022. We weren't actually looking for another pub however it was so lovely we couldn't resist! A traditional English pub in a beautiful area, serving it's own twist on pub food and home to an excellent drinks offering too!"

The business took over the Yew Tree in September 2020, which it called "baby number one".

The firm added: "It was a tough time between two lockdowns but we made it work & now it's a thriving village pub serving locally sourced, home cooked food, real ales, great wines, cocktails & more!"

The London Gazette stated that liquidators were appointed by members and creditors on March 30 for a creditors' voluntary process, suggesting that the firm has become insolvent, and is being voluntarily closed to manage debt repayment.

Usually, a licensed insolvency practitioner is appointed to sell company assets and distribute proceeds to creditors, ensuring an orderly closure that protects against liabilities.

The company also lists on its site the WanderBar.

It isn't mentioned in the London Gazette listing.

The Happy Wolf Pub Company said in a description of it: "Founded in 2024, WanderBar began life on the road.

"A beautifully converted horse box serving craft drinks at events across the country. You'll also find it adding extra sparkle to our pub celebrations.

"In 2025, we opened WanderBar, Warwick. Our first permanent bar and an exciting new addition to the WanderBar story."

According to Companies House, the limited company was first incorporated on July 1, 2020.

The site says accounts are overdue, with accounts made up to March 31, 2025, due by March 31, 2026.

The last accounts were made up to March 31, 2024.
