Kalaburagi: Srushti Mallinath Patil, a student of BG Women’s College in the city, has secured the first rank in the state in the Second PUC Arts stream by scoring 598 marks.
Srushti created a record as the state topper by scoring 100 in Kannada, 99 in English, 99 in History, and 100 each in Sociology, Economics, and Political Science. College Principal Mohan Pattar confirmed this to Udayavani, noting that while other students in the state have also secured 598 marks, Srushti shares the top rank.
This result has shifted the academic narrative in Kalaburagi, where Science students typically draw the most attention for high scores. Principal Pattar stated that Srushti’s achievement in the Arts stream has brought great pride to the district. Although an official technical announcement from the Education Department is pending, her marks card confirms the score. District PU Deputy Director Suresh Akkanna mentioned that official details would be released during the Minister's press conference in the evening.
A moment of joy
"I have scored 598 marks in the PUC exam. This is a great reward for my hard work. My father runs a 'Khanavali' (eatery), and despite his struggles, he supported my education. I dedicate this rank to him," Srushti Patil told Udayavani. Her father operates the Basaveshwara Khanavali in Kalaburagi city, while her mother works as a tailor to support the family. Srushti credited her success to her parents' labor and the guidance of the Principal and faculty at BG Women’s College.
