Elon Musk, the owner of the popular micro-blogging platform X (previously known as Twitter), recently revealed that he had offered a job to a former Twitter executive who was let go by the company's former CEO, Parag Agrawal. Musk has invited Kayvon Beykpour, who previously served as Twitter's head of product, to join his company. During a podcast, Beykpour recounted his initial meeting with Musk, where the Tesla and SpaceX CEO made him an offer to continue working on the platform.

During a podcast, Beykpour shared that his first interaction with Musk was over FaceTime before meeting in person at X headquarters. They discussed about the past, present, and future of Twitter, covering both its strengths and weaknesses for hours.

Beykpour recalled Musk surprising him by casually asking if he wanted to return to the platform. "Elon was pretty chill about it. He ended our chat with a phrase that still cracks me up. He was like, 'Do you wanna, like, just come back? You seem passionate about the product and your ideas aren't silly. Wanna hang out?'" Beykpour recounted on the podcast.

Beykpour mentioned that Musk asked him to "swipe right if you wanna be here." "I asked, 'What would I even do?' And he replied, 'Not sure, just chill and decide if you wanna be here.' He used the Tinder metaphor of swiping right or left, which I found funny coming from him," Beykpour explained.

"He made it clear, 'We don't have to formalise this. Just wanna know if you're up for working on the product with us,'" Beykpour added during the podcast.

Ultimately, Beykpour turned down Musk's offer.
