Obnews Tech Desk: Don't be surprised if this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) looks like a moving stool lamp is headed your way in 2025. This is Mi-Mo, a unique and smart AI-powered robot. For the first time at the CES media event, Mi-Mo surprised the audience with its special style. With wooden decoration and six metal legs, this robot walks on the floor and welcomes people with gentle gestures from its lamp-like “head”. It has been created by Japanese robotics company Jizai and is introduced as a “customizable general-purpose AI robot”.

Technical and design specifics

Jizai CEO Yuki Ishikawa said that many advanced AI models have been used in Mi-Mo. These models give it the ability to think and respond based on video, audio and movement signals. Mi-Mo's AI can be customized by software engineers and new apps can also be created to extend its capabilities.

Talking about design, Mi-Mo has been given a furniture like look. Real wood has been used in it, which gives it a premium and natural finish. Its movements feel as if it is a living being.
