Guwahati Guwahati: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati signed an MoU with Danfos Industries Private Limited during the Global Innovation Shocks IIINVENTIV 2025 held at IIT Madras. A memorandum was signed with senior officials, academic leaders and industry representatives in the presence of Minister of State for Education and Minister of State for North Eastern Region Development (MDONER) Sukant Majumdar.
IIT Guwahati Director Professor Devendra Jalihal and Danfos Industries Private Limited, Regional President of India, Ravichandran Purushottaman signed a memorandum, which is an important step towards strengthening cooperation between education and industry in the fields of sustainable technologies and advanced engineering solutions.
This collaboration will promote research and development in many technology sectors, including water gardening, technology, energy-efficient industrial heating and cooling solutions, advanced power electronics and drives, high pressure pump systems, high pressure pump systems, waste heat use and campus deerbonization solutions, refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) system, multites Flow Stadies, Multifase Flow Studies and Advanced thermal simulation.
The Center for Excellence (COE) will be set up at IIT Guwahati to coordinate and streamlined under integrated research umbrellas, innovation and streamlines under integrated research umbrellas. Additionally, this cooperation will also open new opportunities for students in B.Tech, MTech, MS and PhD programs in IIT Guwahati for internships, collaborative research projects and training programs.
Students will get an opportunity to work in global features of Danfos, get industrial experience, and high-performing students will be eligible for pre-placement offers (PPOs). In addition, a joint academic program will be established between IIT Guwahati and University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in collaboration with Danfoss. The program will provide students with international experiences, industry- courses and students and faculty exchange opportunities, which will promote cross-cultural learning and global research cooperation.
Speaking on the occasion, Director of IIT Guwahati, Prof. Devendra Jalihal said, “This partnership with Danfoss is a step towards the approach to promote innovation through cooperative research and industry connectivity by IIT Guwahati. By linking the state -of -the -art research in IITG with technical expertise of Danfos, our goal is to prepare the talent for the future and resolve important stability challenges.”
